25ft branded inflatable
Cartoon Network wanted to update and enhance their presence at live outdoor events so briefed for a giant inflatable to be designed to combine the logo and a character or characters.
Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends was chosen as the show focus. Bloo being a character with a mischievous, rebellious nature and knowing humour, the design literally 'poked' fun at the fact that this was an inflatable.
The inflatables were developed in conjunction with Air Artists who have done inflatables for many rock bands and live tours, including the original Pink Floyd pig.
From initial turnaround drawings, reference poses and colours, scale model polystyrene maquettes were sculpted to work out the panel construction necessary to ensure that the character's correct component shapes could be achieved when inflated.
The scale of the final inflatable made the end result a striking 'pop-up' landmark which people would naturally gravitate towards.
